I have a Master's degree in Reading with an emphasis in Dyslexia. I have Orton Gillingham training. I hold a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist (C-SLDI) certification. I currently work with the State of Idaho's SMART reading initiative. I coach and support 42 classroom teachers. I have worked in various education roles, working with kindergarten to high school age children. I have received training from reading expert, Dr. Louisa Moats. I am currently a doctoral student, focusing on literacy.
In tutoring, I adhered to Structured Literacy principles. I use Ascend Smarter Intervention in my tutoring. Ascend Smarter Intervention is based on Structured Literacy/Orton Gillingham's approaches. However, I differentiate my instruction for each student to ensure I'm meeting their needs.
